The Basics of UV Bonding Glass
UV bonding, as the name suggests, requires the use of an adhesive. The type of adhesive is very specific to the job and is called a UV curing adhesive. Through UV bonding, we can attach glass parts to make the amazing glass showcases.
There are two common types of bonding pieces of glass where they connect, 90° UV bonding and 45° UV bonding. 90° UV bonding is easier to manufacturer and hence cheaper. While more difficult to manufacture, 45° bonding provides a much more seamless look and is less distracting to a customer.
UV Printing
UV printing is a form of digital printing, once a graphic is created using the respective software, the UV printer will transfer a high resolution, picture-perfect image onto almost any surfaces. As the printer distributes ink on the surface of a materials, the UV lights follow close behind drying and curing the ink instantly, the dots of wet ink do not get a chance to spread out once printed, resulting in much finer detail. The UV cured inks are weather-resistant and offer increased resistance to fading.
UV printing on nontraditional materials like acrylic, glass, wood, metal, marble, light box and plastic is a revolutionary technology, the finished products are high-quality and uniform in appearance, professional results at a low cost per print. In addition, since they dry immediately and release no VOC's into the environment, the UV printing is considered a green technology, safe for the environment and leaving an almost zero carbon footprint.
